Mixed-Cell Type Choroidal Melanoma in a Middle-Aged Woman

Introduction: Melanomas are malignant neoplasms that occur in various anatomical sites, including the eye. Ocular melanomas account for 5% of all and mainly described Caucasian older individuals. This study describes clinical pathological characteristics uveal (choroid) melanoma a patient. Case report: A 41-year-old female patient, brown eyes, without history ophthalmological diseases or family cancer experienced pain loss visual acuity left On examination, an increase ocular pressure was detected. Ultrasound showed mushroom-like neoformation. Moreover, magnetic resonance imaging mass with spontaneous hypersignal on T1-weighted images, intense gadolinium enhancement, marked hyposignal T2-weighted images. The patient referred to Oncology Ophthalmology department enucleation due suspected melanoma. Anatomopathological analysis revealed blackened eyeball. Histologically, comprised spindle cells (50%) epithelioid (50%). diagnosis choroidal established based identification ophthalmoscopic, imaging, histological tumor. Conclusion: Choroidal usually males, clear-eyed, wide variety lesions may mimic melanoma, which should be included differential nevus peripheral hemorrhages.
